Grandfather Mountain and Primitive Camping

We spent the weekend in the mountains primitive camping (I can't believe I survived without electricity and water for an entire weekend lol). It was an awful lot of fun :) We went to Grandfather Mountain State Park on Saturday. We got to see the bears, otters, and several other animals while we were there. Addisyn ran around the park, ate some icecream, and then crashed right before we walked the mile-high swinging bridge :) Addisyn LOVES the outdoors. She kept finding leaves and flowers (she ate a few too). She loved walking the trails and just breathing in the fresh mountain air. We will definitely do this again with her soon. Here are some pictures from our adventure...

Beach Video Clips...

I finally charged the batteries to my camera, so here are the videos I promised to post :)

**On a different note, I want to remind everyone that we will be having Kari's baby shower at my house on Saturday, August 1st 11:00am. She is registered at Babies-R-Us and WalMart. If you don't find anything you would like to buy on her registries you can always pick up some diapers (any size) and wipes- one can never have to many of these items!**

Today I took Addisyn to the Museum for the 1st time- she LOVED it! She walked around pointing at all the exhibits and babbling about them (it was precious). She pointed at the bears and said "cat". Her favorite exhibit is the huge T-Rex at the entrance of the Museum. She pointed at it, said "that", and just kept staring at it :) Second on her favorites list was the fish. Several fish aquariums were on display. She would run up to them and point and attempt to say the word fish- it melted my heart :) We decided to buy the yearly pass and make the Museum a weekly or twice-weekly visit.

Sandy Bottoms...

Sandy bottoms, teething on sea shells, and eating sand were on the top of our favorites list at Myrtle Beach this weekend :) We left at 5 am on Friday morning and headed to Pirate Land Family Campground- it took us roughly 4 hours and 10 minutes (we stopped at the welcome center) to get there. Brian's Dad, Dave, made it in a timely 8 1/2 hours lol and he found 12 new ways NOT to get to Myrtle Beach :) We ate at the Hard Rock Cafe, walked Broadway at the Beach, visited the Gay Dolphin (and surrounding stores), had Addisyn's "old fashioned" picture taken, walked the pier, walked the beach, and went swimming at the Pirate Land's water park. It was a lot of fun. Addisyn LOVED the beach- we plan to make this a yearly event :)
