The pediatrician came by and did a check up on Addisyn. He said she looks perfect :) Dr. Rouse came and checked on Lindy and said she will be back tomorrow morning to see about getting us discharged. We have been snapping pictures of Addisyn and thought we would share a few more.

Addisyn is adorable!

Yesterday after Lindy's OB appointment she was feeling some contractions, which gradually got stronger through out the day. At 7:30pm we called the doctor and Lindy told her "I am in some pain but I don't think I am in labor", but the doctor said to come to the hospital to get checked anyways. Turns out labor was a happening thing! Lindy was 6 cm at the hospital at 11:30pm, she had her WONDERFUL epidural and felt no pain (though the poor nurse had to battle the low blood pressure brought on by the epidural, which got down to 70/50, but once that was taken care of it was smooth sailing), and at 3:10am when the nurse checked she was shocked that the baby was ready to come. As soon as the doctor arrived Lindy pushed for about 15-20 minutes and the baby arrived at 3:40am. She is 6 pounds 7 ounces, has blond hair and blue eyes, and is 20 inches long (yes she looks just like Brian)! We will be at the hospital until Sunday, so here are a few pics until we get home.

Almost There!

Today's OB appointment was pretty standard- blood pressure, weight, pee in a cup, etc. Our nurse, Dana, was on vacation, so a nurse from the other Northcross office was filling in for her. Lindy's blood pressure and weight were fine. The Dr. said Lindy is "A good 4 cm dilated" and she "suspects the baby will come this weekend" because "You can't walk around 4 cm dilated forever." The baby has moved even further down (from the -1-station to the 0-station), however she is still only 50% effaced. When you are pregnant they give you all sorts of due dates based on your last menstrual period and your ultrasounds, so today the doctor adjusted the "official" due date to June 29th. Dr. Rouse is the dr. on call this weekend, so if Lindy delivers this weekend it will be with her usual doctor (Yay!) :) We will be bringing our laptops to the hospital so we can upload updates and pics as we welcome Addisyn into the world :) With that said, we will post again soon (hopefully very soon!).

A baby and an anniversary :)

Wow! We are getting to the end now! The house is clean, the groceries are stocked up, and the baby seat has been installed in the car... the only thing left is to have the baby. Today's OB appointment was the usual- weight, blood pressure, pee in a cup (which is really hard when you can't see down there), and now the added exam :( Anyways, the doctor said Lindy is dilated 3 cm, but the cervix still has some thinning out to do. The Dr. guesses the baby will be here at the end of next week. Our next OB appointment is next Thursday at 9:45am, so maybe the baby will come before then (we sure hope so!). Anyways, next Wednesday (June 25th) is our 4-year wedding anniversary! It is hard to believe we have been married for 4 years! It has been an amazing (and very busy) 4 years. We look forward to what our future holds :) We will post again next Thursday after our appointment or else after the baby is born (which ever comes sooner).

16 Days to Go!

Today's OB appointment went well. The Dr. told us what to watch out for as far as labor goes and when we should give her a call. The baby's heart rate was 150 bpm and Lindy's weight and blood pressure were fine. The doctor said Lindy's blood count went up from a 10.7 to 11.9, which is very good news. Also, the doctor said Lindy is 50% effaced, but she has not started dilating. However, the baby is very very low. The doctor said the baby is in the -1 position, which means the baby is ready to go. We asked the doctor when we could expect to go into labor, but the doctor said there is no exact way of knowing. However, she predicts Addisyn might be a 39-week baby since she is so low. Anyways, our next OB appointment is next Thursday so we will post again after that.

Counting Down...

Only 19 days to go! At Lindy's last OB appointment the doctor said her GBS came back negative, so we don't have to worry about that; Addisyn's heart rate was 160 bpm and she was very active for being so cramped up in such a small space; the doctor estimates that Addisyn is about 5 1/2 pounds, which is a little small, but nothing to worry about since as the doctor said "Its not an exact science"; Addisyn is still in the head-down position; and Lindy's weight and blood pressure were fine. Our next OB appointment is on Thursday June 12th in the afternoon, so we will post again after that. Anyways, last Friday we met the pediatricians at South Lake Pediatrics. We really like Dr. Colyer. She was very down-to-earth and answered all of our questions. We will see her again 4 days after Addisyn is born. Anyways, today we enrolled with AlphaCord to store our cord blood (stem cells). We put down a payment and will be billed for the rest later :). They will be sending our kit via FedEx this week, so we are just to bring it to the hospital when Lindy goes in labor. Anyways, that is about all we have to say for now, but we will post again after the next appointment.

Lindy will be working for DSS!

Today Lindy accepted a job offer from the Department of Health and Human Services as a Social Worker! Since she is very pregnant, she will do her drug test and orientation in the next week, and she will officially start in the middle of August (to allow time to heal from labor and delivery). She is very excited that she will be working in the field that she went to school for!

On another note, we should mention that there truly is something called "nesting syndrome" that pregnant women experience. Lindy has lost her mind! Last night while Brian was at work Lindy "got the urge" to go shopping for very unusual grocery items- canned foods! The cabinet is well stocked with canned green beans, corn, baked beans, peas, and spaghetti o's (enough to last at least 3 months!) Additionally, she filled the freezer with sandwich bread, hot dog buns, and a variety of different meats :) The storing-of-grocery-items is just part of it. She went through all the cabinets and drawers in the house "cleaning and making room" and has become OCD in regards to the cleanliness of the house (dishes, laundry, the floor, dust, the walls, you name it). We have decided to "overlook the crazy" for now, and we are accepting it as part of her "nesting syndrome".

Well, our next OB appointment is Thursday, so unless anything interesting happens before then, that is the next time we will post :)
