Summer winding down...

As the summer has come to an end and school has started back, I have been slacking on my blog updates ;) I started watching a 20-month old little girl (Monday-Friday 7:30-4:00 from now until December). This is working out really well because Addisyn is learning to socialize and to share her toys. I take the girls to "Toddler Story Time" at the library, to the museum, to the park, and several other places/activities throughout the week- including dance class! Yesterday we went to Monkey Joes and the girls had a blast on the new Nemo bouncer. On another note, I am finally in my last year of graduate school and I am starting at the Abuse Prevention Council, counseling domestic violence, sexual abuse, and rape victims. Brian is finishing up the classes he needs for his post-baccalaureate/ graduate certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and he only has 4 classes left to complete his master's degree- he is getting his MGIS&T (Master of Geospatial Information Science and Technology). Anyways, here are some random pictures from over the past few weeks:

Oh and did I mention that crayons and play-doh can be used together to make one fantastic activity?...


But all this hard playing can make a 2 year old very sleepy...

Ocean Isle

We had a great time at Ocean Isle! I wish we could have stayed longer, but we stayed as long as we could. Addisyn had soooo much fun running into the waves, getting knocked down by them, have her shorts filled with sand, and eating tiny seashells! A yearly trip to the beach is a must! Addisyn also enjoyed playing with Grey and looking at Cam. We also visited the playground and the Carolina Coastal Museum. 2 year well-check

Addisyn had her 2 year well-check on Friday, August 6th. She weighed 30.4 pounds (83rd percentile) and was 36 inches tall (92nd percentile).

Summer Updates!

We have had a fun and exciting summer- from the Biltmore to Tugaloo State Park to Stone Mountain to Lake Lure- we have stayed busy! Here are a few pics I thought were cute from the past few weeks...

House Pics- Brian has worked hard planting and watering our flower boxes. It is looking great, and some of the plants are bigger than me!





The fire in the grill was actually much bigger! The story: Addisyn is upstairs sleeping and she starts to cry. As I head up the stairs I smell smoke, and of course think the house is on fire. Actually, Brian's fire on the back deck (in his grill- he was burning cardboard) was so big it filled the attic up with smoke and the a/c was blowing it out through the vents upstairs!
