A day at the park, a wedding, a science center, and the lake!

We have had a busy weekend :) We spent a day at Lineberger Park playing in the sprayground, riding the train, and swinging. We headed down to the Spartanburg Science Center and then went to Beth's wedding on Lake Keowee. Today we spent the day with Brian's Mom and her family at Moss Lake, where Addisyn enjoyed burying her feet in the sand. Here are pics of our eventful weekend...

Wedding & Memorial Day Pics!

Kari and Kyle got hitched! :) My mom hosted a lovely wedding shower to celebrate the occasion (pics below!). Today (Memorial Day) we had a family gathering (my dad's side of the family came in town) and grilled out- despite the bad weather. The guys played Frisbee in the rain and Addisyn dug in the mud for over an hour! It has been an exciting few weeks! My pics are in reverse order, sorry!

The New "Pirates" Exhibit at the Museum!

We went to the new "Pirates" exhibit at the museum this morning. Addisyn really enjoyed it, and I must admit I think it is one of the best exhibits they have ever done! They built a life-size ship and have real monkeys! We also participated in the Bud 'n Naturalists Program this morning at the museum (it gives Addisyn a chance to do arts and crafts and socialize with other kids). Here are some pics...

Addisyn is really at a fun age now. She loves to go swimming, she is saying 2-word sentences now, and she has mastered naming/recognizing her alphabet and her numbers 1-10. Dance is over for the summer. She has dance pics tonight and we are finished until the fall. Here are a few random pictures...

A new bed!

We decided Addisyn needed a bigger bed. The toddler princess bed uses the crib mattress, and for our restless sleeper, is not big enough to turn sideways in without hitting the wall or rolling over the bed rail and hitting the floor. We headed to IKEA and bought her a full-size bed. After much preparation- the bed was unfinished pine (including the headboard), so Brian painted it pink with white slats and then cut the legs to make the bed no taller than the toddler bed from the floor (accessible by an almost-two-year-old)- Addisyn is more than thrilled! Last night was her first night in her new bed and it took her almost 2 hours to go to sleep. I did not anticipate that much excitement over the new bed!

Garibaldi Festival 2010

Today was the Garibaldi Festival in downtown Belmont. Addisyn performed with her dance studio (Carolina Dance Explosion) and she had a great time. It was awfully hot though! After swinging her for a while, we walked around the park. When we came upon the huge fountain, she said "water" and attempted to climb the fence. She is a smart girl- it is hot, there is water, let's go for a swim! After the dance was over, we did head over to GG's (Great Grandma's) for some swimming!

**Reminders/Notices**

1) Kari and Kyle are getting married next weekend, so mark your calendars for their wedding shower being hosted by my parents at their house on Saturday at 1:00pm

2) Addisyn's 2nd birthday is June 27th! We have decided to have her party at Water's Edge (at her great-grandma's house), where we can enjoy some swimming in the very large Water's Edge Swimming Pool. Also, Jason will be doing balloon animals for us! Yay! Her party will be on that Sunday at 2:00pm- Look for invitations in the mail soon!
