Mt. Holly Springfest 2010!!

Today was the Mt. Holly Springfest, and the Carolina Dance Explosion dancers did such a great job providing entertainment. We were #5 to perform, so Addisyn was able to watch some of the older girls first :) Here are some pictures and a video of the event...

We met at Great Grandma/pa P's house (less than 5 minutes from the festival) to show off the matching outfits for the dance. I tried to get a picture of Addisyn and Kyla, but Addisyn did not want to look at the camera :) Brian calls Addisyn a "decision-engine"- she will decide what she wants to do and when! Anyways, here is the best pic I got of the two girls...

**If you missed the Mt. Holly Springfest- mark your calendars for the Garibaldi Festival in Belmont on Saturday, May 15th. Carolina Dance Explosion will be dancing at 1:30 at the stage in Stowe Park.

**Addisyn will not be performing on Saturday, May 8th. She will be performing both the tap and ballet dances at the Garibaldi Festival on the 15th though :)

Spring Updates

Poor Addisyn was quite sick earlier this week- some kind of stomach bug. On Tuesday night she came into our room and puked up garlic bread all over me. When I stood up it was dripping out of my hair- the smell had all 3 of us gagging! Bless her heart- Monday and Tuesday were a bit rough. She had no appetite yesterday (can't blame her there), but she seems to have it back today :) Anyways, here are some pics and videos I thought I would share...

3 Things To Do With Garlic Bread:

**REMINDER** Addisyn will be performing with her dance studio at the Mt. Holly Springfest on Saturday, May 1st. They are scheduled on the main stage at 3:00pm. Come out and support the girls!

Spring is in the air!

The warm weather has been so nice! We bought a jogging stroller and have taken to morning and afternoon strolls. Addisyn's dance class will be performing at 3pm at the Mt. Holly Springfest on Saturday, May 1st, so we hope to see you out there! Here are a few cute pics...

Addisyn looooves Cayden. She says "ga ga goo goo" to him and "aaaaawwww" and then gives him hugs and kisses :) She also points out his "eyes", "ears", "mouth", and "head"...


She knows what she wants :) We buy fruit cups (mandarin oranges, peaches, pears, and mixed fruit) and she goes in the fridge and makes a selection when she needs to snack :)


She also loves her daddy! When he comes home from work all I hear is "Dada Dada" and then she tells him all about her day :) She tells him up "Up!", so he picks her up and she gives big hugs, usually followed by her puckering up and saying "mmmwhaaaa".


Addisyn is in such a fun stage right now. She can say almost anything you ask her to say. She occasionally surprises us with a statement we didn't know she could say. The other day she said "I love you" really clearly! Last night I asked "Which fruit cup do you want?" and she said "That one", I asked "Which one?" and she said "Peaches!!". Too cute!

Happy Easter!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend. It was nice getting to visit with some of our family and friends. Addisyn made some new friends in the church nursery- she has been moved to the older one-year-old's room :) We enjoyed a nice dinner at Aunt Debbie's house and I am ashamed to admit this, but I lost to Uncle Tom at the "chubby bunny" game lol! Addisyn participated in her first Easter egg hunt, where she put the first few eggs in the basket, but then proceeded to find eggs, open them, dump them out, and move on! Here are some pics from our weekend...

I bought Addisyn a beautiful Easter dress, but I couldn't make her wear it. She is so active and I knew it would hinder her ability to move around comfortably. We found an equally pretty alternative though...


We had Kim, Justin, Kyle, and Cayden over for dinner on Saturday night (mmm chicken and steak on the grill). Here are a few pics from it...

Good-bye Winter, Hello Spring!

It is hard to believe how quickly the warm weather moved in! Just 2 weeks ago we were experiencing highs in the 40s- Today it has to be 80 out, and tomorrow they are calling for 90! Addisyn played "big sister" today as we babysat for Cayden. She helped me burp him and entertained him with her "ga ga goo goos", pats, and kisses. Addisyn and Cayden both enjoy reading too. I read to them for close to 30 minutes and they were both still and attentive. Here are some pics...

*Dance Information...

Addisyn's dance recital will be at Holbrook Middle School's auditorium on Saturday, May 8th. Doors open at 5:30pm and the show begins at 6pm

The dance studio is also participating in several community events.

Community Performances:

Mt. Holly Springfest Saturday, May 1st (Time TBA)

Belmont Garibaldi Festival Saturday, May 15th (dancing from 1:30 to 2:30)
