Fun Times

Poor Addisyn has had a rough winter with all the illness that seems to have plagued our household! She was sick again last week and of course, sickness seems to trigger breathing problems with her :( Her oxygen levels were not low like last time, but she was having difficulties. The doctor has put her on 2 new nebulizer medicines (one she will have daily until the end of the winter) to help with her breathing.

Other than that, Addisyn is still enjoying dance, gymnastics, and swimming. Her vocabulary is increasing daily- she averages 3-5 new words per day, which is very exciting. She can tell us things now (ex. She told me "pooped" and I said did you poop? She then says "yeah"- she was correct, she made a stinky! This tells me potty training is going to begin in the very near future!).

Oh yes, she loves Grandpa (who she calls "Papa" for now). We pulled up at his house on Monday and Addisyn pointed at the door and said "Papa"- she knew where we were and who we were going to see. Here is a pic from when "Papa" stopped by our house for a visit...

Splash Time!

Today Kari and Cayden went with us to "Ray's Splash Planet" (if you want to check it out, here is the website: http://www.charmeck.org/Departments/Park+and+Rec/Aquatics/Rays+Splash+Planet/Home.htm). Every other Monday through the school year (it ends in May) they have "Mommy and Me" swimming from 10am- 3pm for only $3. Any other time it is like $8/person and $5/person for people who do not plan to swim (so the Monday thing is an excellent deal). Addisyn and Cayden both had a good time. Addisyn was so excited that Cayden was there too. She would swim over to him and blow kisses at him :) Here are some pics...

Addisyn wore a life vest so she could go down the slides. She loved the slides, the water, getting wet, and everything about this place! She was so excited to run under the giant buckets and have water knock her down. She kept coming up with a smile! She is learning how to swim- she kicks her feet and moves her arms, but she still puts her face in the water when she swims, so she comes up choking- but smiling nonetheless :)





Addisyn loves bath time :) It is part of her nightly routine (a bath before bed). Her and "Dada" made bubble beards and splashed for like 2 hours the other day...



She has figured out how to change the channel with the remote control...


She looooves shoes! She is wearing Brian's...

Mondays:
1) Parent and Tot Swimming at Ray's Splash Planet in Charlotte 10am to 3pm every other Monday through the school year- ends in May- (cost: $3)
2) Bud'n Naturalists Program for Tots at Schiele Museum 9:30 to 11:30 (cost: Museum Admission call 704-866-6900)

Tuesdays:
1) "Mommy and Me" Gymnastics at First in Flight Gymnastics 11:00 to 11:45 (cost: $48/month)
2) Story Time at Mt. Holly Library 10:30 to 10:50 (cost: FREE)
3) Story Time at Lowel Library 11:00 to 11:20 (cost: FREE)
4) Admission to Schiele Museum 4pm to 8pm 2nd and 4th Tuesday per month (cost: FREE)
5) Toddler Program at Gaston County Museum 10am to 11am 4th Tuesday every month (cost: $2)
6) Mommy and Me Yoga at Blissful Body Yoga 10:30 to 11:00 (cost: $15)

Wednesdays:
1) Music Class at Union Rd YMCA 10:15 to 10:45 (cost: Free to members/ $3 non members)
2) Monkey Joe's on Franklin Blvd (cost: half price all day)
3) Story Time at Union Rd Branch Library 10:30 to 10:50 (cost: FREE)

Thursdays:
1) Story Time at Main Library 10:30 to 10:50 (cost: FREE)
2) Story Time at Belmont Library 10:00 to 10:20 and again 11:00 to 11:20 (cost: FREE)

Fridays:
1) Mommy and Me Dance Class (ballet/tap) 10:00 to 11:00 (cost: $35/month, boys 1/2 price)
2) Music Class at Union Rd YMCA 10:15 to 10:45 (cost: Free to members/ $3 non members)
3) MOPS at Bethlehem Baptist Church 9am to 11am every other Friday (cost: call BBC 704-823-1600)

Other things to do in Gastonia: Parks (Martha Rivers is very nice), Hiking (like Crowders Mountain), and Chuck E Cheese (always free to get in).

I am sure there are lots of other things to do with little ones, but these are the ones that I have discovered :) Hope this is helpful!

First in Flight Gymnastics

Addisyn started gymnastics this month at First in Flight Gymnastics in Gastonia. She has class on Tuesday mornings and has really enjoyed it so far. She is still doing ballet/tap dance at Carolina Dance Explosion on Friday mornings (which she really likes too). Anyways, here are a few pics from Gymnastics...

Go Saints!

We watched the Super Bowl with Dave & Barbara, laughed at some of the ridiculous commercials, and chowed down on food til we were sick! Addisyn entertained us by saying "Go go go go!" and hitting her golf balls with her new golf clubs (all plastic of course). Addisyn is feeling much better and that means Mommy and Daddy can sleep better too! Addisyn slept from 10pm until 7:45am this morning- this is a first! No bottle, no crying- all sleeping :) I heard her saying "on" and "fish" at 7:45am and when I went in her room she was on her stool looking at her fish- she wanted the fish tank light on :)

Our sick little bumble bee

Poor Addisyn has had a rough winter- just sickness after sickness :( Sadly she is sick again. Her oxygen level was low and she was having some trouble breathing. The Dr. gave her two shots of dexamethasone at the office along with a breathing treatment. We spent quite a while there and then the Dr. came back in to listen to her lungs again. The Dr. says the runny nose/cough/congestion is a virus, but the concern is her breathing. We have to do breathing treatments every 4 hours. Addisyn has a very sensitive gag reflex too. She starts coughing and then gags (which she did throw up a few days ago because of this). Bless her heart! I can't wait for her to get better and sleep more than 45 minutes at a time! On a better note, here are a few cute pics I needed to post...

Addisyn's favorite toy- a box! I ordered a bunch of stuff from Children's Place (online) and it came in this box :) She was more excited about the box than her new clothes, sunglasses, or hair bow...
